Perspectives in Military History - Annual Seminar
Series. The U.S. Army Heritage and Education
Center sponsors a public lecture series, “Perspectives
in Military History,” throughout Army War College
Academic Year. These presentations customarily provide a
historical dimension to the exercise of generalship, strategic
leadership, and the war fighting institutions of land power.
All lectures are held at The Army Heritage and Education
Center off of Army Heritage Drive in Carlisle, PA. The building
opens at 6:45 p.m.; the talk begins at 7:15 p.m., and the
question period concludes around 8:30 p.m.

The Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings. The
Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings in Military History honor
Dr. Brooks E. Kleber, former U.S. Army Assistant Chief of
Military History (CMH). Dr. Kleber served as the Deputy
Chief Historian, CMH and Chief Historian, Continental Army
Command (later training and Doctrine Command). During World
War II, Dr. Kleber was assigned to the 90th Infantry Division
in the European Theater of Operations. He was captured shortly
after D-Day and was interned until the end of the war, later
becoming one of the Army’s foremost authorities on
prisoners of war. He was inducted into the Infantry Hall
of Fame and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a colonel.
A 1940 graduate of Dickinson College, Kleber held an M.A.
and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
All Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings are held at Ridgway
Hall, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA. Doors open at 6:00pm
and the reading begins at 7:15pm.
