Lectures

Perspectives in Military History - Annual Seminar Series. The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center sponsors a public lecture series, “Perspectives in Military History,” throughout Army War College Academic Year. These presentations customarily provide a historical dimension to the exercise of generalship, strategic leadership, and the war fighting institutions of land power.

All lectures are held at The Army Heritage and Education Center off of Army Heritage Drive in Carlisle, PA. The building opens at 6:45 p.m.; the talk begins at 7:15 p.m., and the question period concludes around 8:30 p.m.

See the Army Heritage and Education Center website for the schedule of speakers.

The Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings. The Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings in Military History honor Dr. Brooks E. Kleber, former U.S. Army Assistant Chief of Military History (CMH). Dr. Kleber served as the Deputy Chief Historian, CMH and Chief Historian, Continental Army Command (later training and Doctrine Command). During World War II, Dr. Kleber was assigned to the 90th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations. He was captured shortly after D-Day and was interned until the end of the war, later becoming one of the Army’s foremost authorities on prisoners of war. He was inducted into the Infantry Hall of Fame and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a colonel. A 1940 graduate of Dickinson College, Kleber held an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

All Brooks E. Kleber Memorial Readings are held at Ridgway Hall, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA. Doors open at 6:00pm and the reading begins at 7:15pm.
