Voices of the Past Speak to the Future

Visitor and Education Center Capital Campaign

The Army Heritage Center Foundation is conducting a capital campaign to construct the Visitor and Education Center, a key component of the Army Heritage and Education Center (AHEC) campus, and to create an endowment to sustain educational programs. The Visitor and Education Center (VEC) will be the focal point for all campus educational activities will serve as the primary point of entry into the AHEC Campus.

The VEC's development will occur in phases. Phase One will include the first gallery of the Army Heritage Musuem, multipurpose rooms to support veterans groups and educational programs, and support infratructure for visitors and staff. Phase 2 will add additional multipuropse rooms and an auditorium and enhancements to visitor services.

The unique public-private partnership established to develop the AHEC will make this building possible. The Army has agreed to fund its operation and maintenance, and to staff the facility. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has committed $10 million towards construction of the Visitor and Education Center building. The Army Heritage Center Foundation will fund the remainder. Each phase of the VEC will cost approximately $15 million for design and construction services.

Upon completion of the Foundation's efforts to construct the Education Center, a campaign to raise funds for the Army Heritage Museum will commence.
