The Army Heritage Center Foundation is proud to announce that the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) Public Service Announcements (PSAs) have received the prestigious Silver Telly Award in the 32nd Annual Telly Awards Competition. The Foundation developed the PSAs with a grant from Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. and with the support of Metro Productions of Hampton, Virginia to promote the Center’s efforts to “Tell the Army story . . . One Soldier at a time.” The Telly Awards was founded in 1978 and is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies. The awards honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV commercials, and video and film productions created for the Web. Judges evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work. The Foundation created four 30 second and one minute PSAs that highlight the USAHEC’s efforts to honor and preserve our Soldiers’ memories and to educate the American public about their service and sacrifices. The public service announcements have played on AETN stations (A&E and the History Channel), in the Virginia Beach area on hotel channels, on Harrisburg regional television stations and on Armed Forces Radio and Television. To view the PSAs please visit www.youtube.com/user/AHCFoundation. The USAHEC is dedicated to educating and preserving the legacy of the men and women who have served their nation as Soldiers. The Center's mission is to educate a broad audience on the heritage of the Army by acquiring, preserving and making available historical records, materials and artifacts. A unique Army and public asset, the USAHEC is the Army’s only historical organization chartered to acquire and preserve the personal history of our Soldiers through their photos, letters, diaries and artifacts. USAHEC staff then makes these resources available to the public through accessible archives, engaging education programs, and world-class interpretive displays. For more information about the USAHEC visit www.usahec.org. The Army Heritage Center Foundation’s mission is to promote the development of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center and its programs and to enhance the Center’s ability to inform and educate the American public on the Soldiers’ and the U.S. Army’s roles in our Nation’s history. The Foundation is, through donated support, funding the phased construction of the public components of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center -- the Visitor and Education Center and the Army Heritage Museum. As the phased construction program is complete, the Foundation transfers these facilities to the Army to operate and maintain as part of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. The Foundation also provides “margin of excellence support” to meet the needs of educational programs and other activities at the USAHEC where federal funds are unavailable.
