USAHEC's Value to the Nation

As the Army’s premier historical research and education facility, the Center will provide unprecedented access to first-hand accounts of service in America’s Army. From personal letters, diaries, photographs and artifacts, Americans will enjoy a fascinating and inspiring story of duty and honor. Through the massive and impressive collection of books and papers, historians and researchers will be able to better document “lessons learned” in many of the world’s diplomatic and military conflicts. And visitors from all walks of life will gain a greater understanding and appreciation for those who helped to build and protect the nation that has been — and remains — an enduring symbol of hope to peoples everywhere.
