FEBRUARY 3, 2020 - THE LIBERATION OF DACHAU:  A 75th ANNIVERSARY PERSPECTIVE

Our special guest presenter for this workshop, Mr. Ernie Gross, was 15 when he was deported from his native Romania, first to Auschwitz, where he was selected for labor, then to Dachau in the closing months of the war.  There, he was liberated by the advancing U.S. Army, along with thousands of other prisoners.  Mr. Gross will share his experiences and show the History Channel documentary, The Liberators:  Why We fought, in which he is featured.  The program will also feature an overview of the U.S. Army's role as liberators and witnesses to the Holocaust, and an opportunity to view some of the Holocaust materials in the collection of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center.  Act 48 credit is available.  Cost to attend:  $15.
