September 13, 2019 - National History Day in Pennsylvania

8:30 AM - 3:30 PM at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA.  New and veteran teachers are invited to learn about recent changes to the NHD rules, the annual theme, tips for helping students with their projects, and what resources are available at USAHEC.  Cost to attend:  $15.

October 18, 2019 - Operation Desert Storm

8:30 AM - 3:30 PM at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA.  The 2020-21 school year will encompass the 30th anniversary of Operation Desert Storm.  This workshop will enhance your knowledge of this watershed event in U.S. and world history, and provide information about and access to primary sources.  Guest presenters will include COL (Ret.) Frank Hancock, who served as commander of the lead battalion for the 101st Airborne in the liberation of Kuwait.   Cost to attend:  $15.

Pennsylvania Act 48 Professional Development Hours

The Army Heritage Center Foundation will provide proof of participation that can be submitted to your school's Act 48 administrator to receive credit through your school.

Continuing Professional Education is important in Pennsylvania. Act 48 of 1999 requires all professional educators holding Pennsylvania public school certificates to participate in Continuing Professional Education. For more information about Act 48 please click here.
