Veterans Oral History Program

The Veterans Oral History Program supports intergenerational communication. High school students conduct and record oral history interviews with Veterans to preserve their memories of service in historical archives and learn about history from those who participated in it. The program meets Pennsylvania academic standards.

U.S. Army Veteran oral histories are preserved at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. Interviews with other military branch Veterans are submitted to proper historical organizations for preservation.

Veterans meet with students for two interviews, supervised by Foundation staff, each lasting approximately 90 minutes.  The interviews are recorded, and each Veteran receives a copy at the conclusion of the interview process.

Please use the form below to register, or contact Jeff Hawks, Director of Education and Veteran Outreach at eddirector@armyheritage.org or 717-258-1102 for more information.
