Army Heritage Center Foundation’s Fifth Annual Membership Dinner

The Army Heritage Center Foundation will be hosting its 5th Annual Membership Dinner on September 14, 2012 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Radisson Harrisburg Hotel in Camp Hill.

The Army Heritage Center Foundation will be hosting its 5th Annual Membership Dinner on September 14, 2012 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Radisson Harrisburg Hotel in Camp Hill.

At the dinner, the Foundation honors Veterans past and present, those who support Soldiers and their families, and those who support the Army Heritage Center Foundation and the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center’s efforts to grow and facilitate “Telling the Army Story . . . one Soldier at a time.” This year’s honorees include former Pennsylvania Governor and Secretary of Homeland Security, the Honorable Thomas Ridge, CSM Jeffrey Mellinger, USA Ret., the last Vietnam era “draftee” to retire from active service, and the Army Arlington Ladies.

Ridge will accept the Foundation’s MG John Armstrong Award for his efforts in promoting the development of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. Mellinger will receive the Living Legend Award for his unwavering service to his country duringmore than 38 years of active duty. The Army Arlington Ladies will accept the Foundation’s Boots on the Ground Award, for working tirelessly for the past 40 years at Arlington National Cemetery, to ensure that the contributions of all Soldiers as members of the Army family are remembered.

The dinner will also include a silent auction and performances by the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Brass Quintet and the Cumberland Valley High School String Quartet.
