A Legacy Remembered: The Families of Black Hawk Down

An intimate conversation with the spouses and widows of the soldiers who fought and died during the Battle of Mogadishu.

Their spouses’ courage has been immortalized in the film Black Hawk Down and in countless documentaries, books, and military history forums. But until now, their stories have largely remained untold.

For the first time, the spouses and widows of the soldiers who fought and died in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu will share their memories, reflections, and resilience. This historic discussion offers a deeply personal perspective on the cost of war—one that has remained in the shadows for more than three decades–through the lens of the military families whose support and sacrifice often goes unnoticed.

Join the Army Heritage Center Foundation, AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter, the U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum, and our media sponsor WAAY-31 in Huntsville for this moving and long-overdue conversation during a special tea in Huntsville, Alabama, held in conjunction with our commemoration of the battle and its lasting legacy. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the Night Stalker Association, a nonprofit personally selected by our speakers in recognition of its legacy of service and support to Night Stalkers and their families, surviving family members of fallen Night Stalkers, and the 160th SOAR.
