(CARLISLE, PA) – (CARLISLE, PA) – As the U.S. Army wraps up its 250th anniversary year and gears up for the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026, Army Heritage Center Foundation President Julie Germany has announced two exciting new additions to the nonprofit’s board.
Pennsylvania’s former Assistant Adjutant General Robert P. French and acclaimed filmmaker Michelle Taylor have both accepted the Carlisle, Pa.-based foundation’s invitation to join the board of directors.
MG (Ret) French launched his military career when he enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 1972. He and his unit were mobilized in support of the United Nations’ peacekeeping effort in the Balkans. Throughout his 37-year career, he served in numerous command and staff assignments, which culminated in overall responsibility for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. A graduate of Mansfield University in 1972, he later earned his Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College in Carlisle. In addition to his military service, he later served as the Director of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and as the governor’s Homeland Security Advisor. Subsequently, he served as a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army.
Ms. Taylor is the co-founder of Electrolift Creative, a boutique production company specializing in documentaries, feature films and short narratives. Her career includes her start at Young America’s Foundation and a national consulting firm. Her award-winning filmmaking on current events has garnered international attention and influenced political reforms. Other timely topics she has tackled include hotly contested elections in Argentina, the link between congressional leaders and Silicon Valley executives, and an exploration of artist Marcel Duchamp, along with documentaries on the electoral college, New York City’s revitalization in the ‘90s. and the national debt.

French and Ms. Taylor bring vast talent in their field that will enhance an already accomplished board’s strength,” said Germany. “As we build upon initiatives connecting 250 years of Army history with the American public and telling compelling soldier stories that bring the taverns and wheat fields of the 1770s and more to life, these two board members will be catalysts for creativity and role models of inspired leadership.”
