Kham Duc, an obscure U.S. Army Special Forces camp near the remote Laotian border of Quang Tin Province in I Corps. From May 10 to 12, 1968, it and a small, temporary patrol base 5 miles south of it were attacked by two reinforced regiments – some 3,600 regular, uniformed troops – of the North Vietnamese Army 2nd Division. Jim McLeroy will explain the strategic significance of this isolated base as well as provide a detail narrative of this week-long battle.
