When the Marines Came to Gettysburg

Rich Kohr, Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park, will tell a lesser known story of Gettysburg. In 1922, 6,000 U.S. Marines spent ten days performing a series of maneuvers on the Gettysburg battlefield culminating in a reenactment of Pickett’s Charge. This program will examine why this event occurred; and how it has impacted the battlefield and the Marine Corps to this day.
